Romania and the United States have signed a Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) agreement on 28 May 2015. This is a Model 1 Agreement. Under this reciprocal agreement, Romania will report the information required under FATCA about U.S. accounts to the Romanian Government, which in turn will report the information to the IRS.
