Ireland’s Fianna Fáil party has expressed its concern over the slow progress being made by the European Commission in its preliminary probe of the country’s corporate tax regime. Six months after the report of the preliminary probe the European Commission is still at the stage of ‘gathering information’ and no timescale has been provided for the conclusion of the probe.

The party has expressed concern about the risk the review poses to Ireland’s international reputation. The European Commission is investigating the special treatment of certain companies in Ireland and gathering all necessary information to either rebut or confirm allegations about this treatment.
