Egypt cancels special register rule for tax accountants to ease procedures.
The Egyptian Ministry of Finance cancelled Ministerial Decision No. 481 of 2023 on 19 October 2025, which mandated accountants to be included in a special register to interact with the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA).
The withdrawn rule had confined the signing of tax returns and representation before the ETA to accountants listed on the register, barring tax officials from working with unregistered practitioners.
The decision follows extensive consultations between the Ministry and professional accounting organisations, aimed at easing administrative procedures and facilitating the work of tax professionals.
