Cyprus's Tax For All (TFA) system will shut down for five days in early May for maintenance work, prompting authorities to push back VAT and VIES filing deadlines to 20 May 2026 to give businesses extra time to comply.
The Cyprus Tax Department has announced a temporary shutdown of its Tax For All (TFA) online platform for scheduled maintenance on 5 May 2026. The system will be inaccessible from 1:00 PM on Thursday, 7 May 2026, until 7:30 AM on Tuesday, 12 May 2026.
Due to this disruption, the Tax Commissioner has granted an extension for key tax obligations. Businesses now have until 20 May 2026 to submit their VAT Returns for the period ending 31 March 2026 and pay any outstanding VAT amounts. The same deadline applies to VIES Recapitulative Statements covering April 2026.
Taxpayers missing the extended 20 May 2026 deadline will face financial consequences. Late VAT Return submissions will incur a EUR 100 penalty, while unpaid VAT amounts will attract an additional 10% tax charge. Delayed VIES submissions carry a separate EUR 50 fine.
