The Inland Revenue Department of the Ministry of Finance of Cyprus issued Circular No. 2013/16 on 23 September 2013, expressing that Cyprus and Ukraine have both completed all the procedures required to bring into force the new Double Tax Treaty between the two countries which was signed on 8 November 2012.
The Treaty and the Protocol will apply to taxes withheld at source for amounts paid on or after 1 January 2014 and to other taxes for taxable years or periods beginning on or after 1 January 2014. Furthermore, the USSR-Cyprus Double Tax Treaty signed on 29 October 1982 will no longer be in effect as of 1 January 2014.
