The President, Sebastian Pinera, announced draft budget for the year 2020. He said that they have passed a very crucial economic time due to the low copper prices and the trade war between China and the United States. The draft budget covers several sectors, including the educational system, the health care and pension system, foreign investment, security, and the climate crisis the country is suffering.
Under this budget, several reforms had been made regarding the finance and admission mechanisms of educational institutions. In the field of health care, the president declared that his government will make investment in 75 hospital projects and 86 health centers, as well as the incorporation of 1,000 new medical specialists. Chileans will receive a handsome pension along with their basic salary from the following year.
At present, this proposed budget has been sent to Congress, where the Lawmakers will vote on the plan late November.
