The initiative aims to strengthen Chile’s National Green Hydrogen Strategy and position the country as a global leader in producing and exporting green hydrogen.

Chile’s Chamber of Deputies (the lower house of Congress) approved a bill on 3 December 2025 during session No. 98a/373, as noted in Bulletin No. 17777-05.

The legislation, proposed by the Executive Branch, aims to introduce tax incentives to encourage domestic consumption of green hydrogen and related products (H2V).

The bill will now move to the Senate for further discussion and a decision on whether to approve or reject it.

Earlier, Chile’s Ministry of Finance submitted a bill to the Chamber of Deputies to promote the green hydrogen (H2V) industry on 19 August 2025.

The initiative, developed in collaboration with the Ministries of Energy and Economy, Development and Tourism, aims to strengthen the country’s National Green Hydrogen Strategy and position Chile as a global leader in producing and exporting this clean fuel.
