Canada will present Budget 2026 on 5 November, outlining measures to boost investment, improve affordability, create jobs and strengthen economic resilience.
Canada’s Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne will table Budget 2026 on 5 November 2026. The Department of Finance Canada announced the date in a media advisory issued on 20 October 2026.
This follows the Department of Finance’s conclusion of its pre-budget consultations on 9 September 2026, gathering input from workers, businesses, Indigenous leaders, and citizens to shape Budget 2026 amid affordability challenges and US tariff measures.
The federal budget will set out the government’s plan for a stronger, more independent and more resilient economy. It also aims to make life more affordable for Canadians.
The government will propose measures to unlock investment and move nation building projects forward. The plan also calls for good jobs at home, stronger economic security and new opportunities as the world changes.
Budget 2026 follows steps the government has already taken. Those steps include relief on groceries and fuel, support for energy-saving home retrofits and lower costs for new housing.
The government has also advanced major nation building projects. It introduced the Productivity Mega Deduction to encourage business investment.
