Cameroon and Turkey have agreed to conclude negotiations on an income tax treaty and bring it into force as soon as possible, according to Turkey’s Minister of Trade.

Cameroon and Turkey agreed on 3 November 2026 to conclude negotiations on an income tax treaty and bring it into force as soon as possible, according to a post by Turkey’s Minister of Trade on 3 November 2026.

The minister said the two sides also discussed trade and investment cooperation. “During the meeting, we discussed steps to further increase our bilateral trade volume, which reached a historic high in 2025,” he said. “We also discussed strengthening our cooperation in the contracting sector, which has already exceeded USD 1 billion, through new projects.”

If an agreement is reached, it will have to be signed and ratified in both jurisdictions before entering into force.
