Law 12,865 was published in Brazil’s official bulletin on 10 October 2013 and has now come into force in Brazil. The Law provides for specific rules regarding the expected amnesty programs targeting companies that carry open debts resulting from Provisional Measure 2,158-35/2001, Article 74.
This is a tax refinancing program launched after the global financial crisis to collect overdue tax liabilities. The new filing period for the Crisis Refis is open from 21 November to 31 December 2013.
