Kyrgyzstan and Bangladesh discussed resuming negotiations on an income tax treaty during a meeting on 14 October 2026.
The meeting brought together Mederbek Tumanov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Asad Alam Siam, Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh.
The two sides discussed ways to increase bilateral trade, promote Kyrgyz products in Bangladesh and strengthen cooperation in the textile, garment, pharmaceutical and halal industries. They also explored joint investment opportunities and ways to improve the bilateral legal and contractual framework.
Bangladesh invited a Kyrgyz delegation to visit in 2027 to strengthen economic ties and establish direct contacts between businesses in both countries.
If an agreement is reached, it will have to be signed and ratified in both jurisdictions before entering into force.
