Austrian and Libyan officials have expressed hope that a new income tax treaty under negotiation will be finalised soon, following talks on bilateral relations.
Austrian and Libyan officials met to discuss bilateral relations, with both sides voicing hope that the new income tax treaty currently being negotiated will be finalised soon, according to a post by the Austrian Embassy in Libya on X.
Austrian Ambassador Barbara Grosse held friendly consultations at the Libyan foreign ministry with Europe Director Abubakr Al Tawil and Protocol Director Taher Al Younes on a range of issues. Both sides expressed hope that the bilateral double taxation agreement will be finalised soon.
The new treaty must be finalised, signed and ratified before it can enter into force. An earlier treaty between the two countries was signed in 2010 but never entered into force.
