Hong Kong and Kazakhstan will commence their first round of income tax treaty negotiations from 24 to 28 August 2026 to prevent double taxation and combat fiscal evasion between the two nations.
The Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department (IRD) announced in an update that Hong Kong and Kazakhstan will hold their first round of negotiations on an income tax treaty from 24 to 28 August 2026.
If an agreement is reached, it will help prevent double taxation and combat fiscal evasion between the two nations.
Any resulting treaty would need to be finalised, signed and ratified before entering into force.
