Indonesia's tax authority has extended the corporate annual tax filing deadline by one month to 31 May 2026, following technical issues with the Coretax system and thousands of requests from businesses and tax consultants.

Indonesia’s tax authority, the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) has given companies an extra month to submit their annual tax returns, pushing the deadline from 30 April to 31 May 2026.

Director General of Taxes Bimo Wijayanto announced on Thursday, 30 April, during a visit to the Menteng Dua Tax Office in Jakarta. The extension covers the SPT Tahunan PPh Badan, the country’s annual corporate income tax return.

The decision came after approximately 4,000 companies formally requested deadline relief, alongside petitions from tax consultants and business groups. Technical glitches in Indonesia’s Coretax filing platform further justified the need for additional time.

Bimo consulted the Finance Minister that morning before confirming the extension. An official circular with full details will be released soon.

While filing has been extended, the payment deadline for PPh Pasal 29 corporate taxes has not changed. DJP continues evaluating whether to adjust payment terms as well.

Tax collection remains strong, with revenue growth exceeding 18% through 29 April 2026. By the original deadline, 12.7 million returns had been filed—representing 84% of the 15 million target.

Businesses operating in Indonesia now have until 31 May 2026 to complete their corporate tax filings. Individual taxpayer deadlines remain unaffected by this change.
