Taiwan’s Ministry of Finance signed a 12-article mutual administrative assistance agreement in customs matters with Eswatini on 2 May 2026 to strengthen enforcement cooperation, improve cargo clearance efficiency and support legitimate trade.
Taiwan’s Ministry of Finance (MOF) announced that it signed an agreement on mutual administrative assistance in customs matters (CMAA) with Eswatini on 2 May 2026.
The MOF noted that the agreement builds on the Economic Cooperation Agreement (ECA) signed between the two countries in 2018, under which both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in customs matters.
Following this commitment, Taiwan initiated efforts to establish a formal customs cooperation mechanism with Eswatini, leading to consensus through coordination between the respective finance and foreign affairs ministries.
The CMAA comprises 12 articles and provides a framework for customs authorities to exchange information and share enforcement experience on best practices. It is aimed at improving the ability to combat customs offences, safeguarding legitimate trade, and enhancing cargo clearance efficiency, the MOF said.
