Italy’s Revenue Agency has released multilingual VAT return forms for the 2026 filing season, enabling taxpayers to submit their 2025 returns online between 1 February 2026 and 30 April 2026 with improved accessibility for linguistic minorities.
The Italian Revenue Agency has published translated versions of its Annual VAT Return Form and related instructions for the 2026 filing season, continuing its annual effort to support taxpayers with different linguistic needs.
The standard annual VAT return—used by companies, businesses, and self-employed individuals—is now accessible on the Agency’s website in English, German, and Slovenian. In contrast, the simplified (basic) return is available only in German and Slovenian, with no English version provided.
All forms are issued in bilingual format, except for the English versions, while the accompanying instructions are available online in a single language only. These tailored versions are specifically designed to assist linguistic minorities in meeting their tax compliance obligations.
The VAT return must be submitted exclusively online between 1 February 2026 and 30 April 2026, covering the 2025 tax year. Taxpayers are required to adhere strictly to this timeframe for electronic filing.
By offering ad hoc translated versions each year, the Tax Administration aims to simplify compliance and ensure broader accessibility, particularly for non-native speakers and minority language groups.
