Colombia’s DIAN has extended tax deadlines after 17 April 2026 was declared a civic holiday for national-level entities.

Colombia’s National Tax and Customs Directorate (DIAN) announced, on 4 March 2026, that several tax deadlines will be extended because the third Friday of April was declared a civic holiday for national-level entities under Decree 500 of 2024.

For 2026, the third Friday of April falls on 17 April. Under Decree 2229 of 2023, any obligations due on that date or afterwards will now be moved to the next business day. This means not only obligations due on 17 April but also subsequent deadlines will be adjusted.

The change affects:

  • Filing and payment of the second installment of the 2025 income tax for large taxpayers.
  • Monthly filing and payment of withholding tax for 2026.
  • Annual filing of the Significant Economic Presence (SEP) declaration.
  • Annual filing and payment under the Simple Taxation Regime (STR).

DIAN advised taxpayers to check the updated 2025 tax calendar at www.dian.gov.co/Calendarios/Calendario_Tributario_2026.pdf and plan ahead to ensure timely compliance.
