The Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities has suggested increasing the tax-exempt compensation for residents living near solar farms.
Denmark’s Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities has suggested increasing the tax-exempt compensation for residents living near solar farms under the renewable energy bonus programme.
This announcement was made on 16 September 2025.
The government will negotiate measures to make it easier, faster, and better to install renewable energy on land, while addressing the concerns of neighbours about solar panels and wind turbines.
The government is taking the next step to secure more green electricity in Denmark, which includes proposals such as low-cost electricity for neighbours of solar or wind installations, more solar panels on public buildings, and support to ensure complaints are resolved smoothly and efficiently.
These are among 17 initiatives the government will now discuss with parties in the Danish Parliament. The goal is to create better conditions for renewable energy installations where demand and local support exist.
