Indonesia and Peru signed a free trade agreement (FTA) in the Indonesian capital Jakarta on 11 August 2025 to enhance trade and investment ties.
The free trade agreement seeks to strengthen collaboration between the two countries in combating narcotics, tackling illegal trade, and working together in areas such as food, mining, energy transition, fisheries, and defence.
In 2024, Indonesia exported USD 331.2 million worth of goods to Peru, including cars, biodiesel, and footwear, while importing USD 149.6 million, mainly cocoa beans and grapes.
Peru’s President Dina Boluarte highlighted increased opportunities for Peru to export fresh fruits, such as blueberries, quinoa and grapes, to Indonesia.
