Saudi Arabia has extended the deadline for zakat payers to apply the Executive Regulations to prior fiscal years, giving more time for compliance.
Saudi Arabia has extended the deadline for zakat payers to apply the Executive Regulations for the Collection of Zakat (Bylaws) to earlier financial years.
The new deadline is 31 August 2025, replacing the previous date of 30 April 2025.
The change was made through Ministerial Resolution No. 1463, issued on 13 June 2025. It applies to zakat payers who want to apply the Bylaws to financial years that began before 1 January 2024.
The Executive Regulations were originally approved on 21 March 2024 under Ministerial Resolution No. 1007 to provide clearer rules for calculating zakat and to standardise existing regulations. A previous amendment, issued on 14 February 2025 (MR No. 947), had already extended the initial deadline to 30 April 2025.
This latest extension gives zakat payers more time to assess how the Bylaws affect their earlier obligations and to file the necessary application. Applications must now be submitted by 31 August 2025.
