The Cabinet of Ministers of the United Arab Emirates approved for ratification the income tax treaty with Bahrain on 2 January 2025.
Earlier, the Bahrain Council of Representatives approved the ratification of the income tax treaty with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on 3 December 2024.
The treaty was signed on 11 February 2024, and is a first of its kind between the two nations. It will come into effect on the first day of the second month following the exchange of ratification instruments, and will be applicable starting from 1 January of the subsequent year.
The agreement is part of ongoing efforts to enhance cooperation on tax issues and the elimination of double taxation on income.
