Representatives from Bangladesh and Uganda met to discuss bilateral cooperation and the need for an income tax treaty on Thursday, 17 October 2024.
Joyce Kakuramatsi Kikafunda, the Non-Resident High Commissioner of Uganda to Bangladesh, made a courtesy visit to Foreign Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss the matter.
They emphasised the importance of regularly conducting Foreign Office Consultations (FOC), signing a Visa Waiver Agreement for diplomatic and official passport holders, and exploring agricultural cooperation, especially through contract farming.
If an agreement is reached, it will be the first between the two nations and must be finalised, signed, and ratified before it can take effect.
