The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced yesterday that tax treaty negotiations between Japan and Armenia are set to begin on 9 October 2024.
The two nations will initiate negotiations for the new convention replacing the current tax treaty (Convention between the Government of Japan and the Government of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics for the Avoidance of Double Taxation with respect to Taxes on Income) which entered into force in 1986.
Any resulting agreement must be finalised, signed, and ratified before it can take effect.
