On 24 March 2020, the Measures and Actions During State of Emergency Act was enacted in Bulgaria, which introduces temporary tax measures due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Corporate income tax

According to the Act, the filing deadline of the annual corporate income tax return and for the payment of taxes is extended from 31 March 2020 to 30 June 2020. The filing of the annual financial statements for companies is also extended until 30 September 2020.

Individual income tax

The deadline for filing the annual individual income tax return and for the payment of taxes by traders and sole proprietorships is extended to 30 June 2020. Also, note that, if the persons file their tax returns and remit the tax payment by 31 May 2020 then they may be entitled to a 5% deduction.
