The tax office of Belgium has confirmed that it is to require all taxable persons to file electronic VAT filings over the next year. Corporations will have to submit their monthly or quarterly VAT returns through the online portal of the Ministry of Finance. There will be exemptions from this requirement for any companies which can demonstrate a lack of access to the necessary technology. Non-resident VAT traders will however only have to commence electronic declarations from the start of 2015.
