The Maldives and United Arab Emirates (UAE) have a long history of bilateral ties, based on friendship, common understanding and mutual benefits for the progress and prosperity of both countries and peoples. An Agreement was signed on October 17, 2017, between Government of Maldives and the Government of United Arab Emirates for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income and capital.
