The World Trade Organisation (WTO) Public Forum for 2015 is to be held from 30 September to 2 October 2015.
The Forum will include a high-level plenary debate on “Making Trade Work More Inclusively” looking at the contribution of trade to socio-economic development and how trade policy should be formulated at a multilateral level. Another plenary debate on “Making Trade Work for Business” will look at how trade policy should address global challenges, and how the WTO can do more to help the private sector.
The provisional program includes around 90 sessions. The Forum is to include a working session by UNCTAD on the role of special economic zones (SEZs) in advancing sustainable development goals; a workshop by the OECD and World Bank on developing countries and global value chains; a workshop by Dutch customs on facilitating trade; and a session on “The future of free zones: dedicated facilities vs incentives”.
