The US has extended tariff exemptions for one year on select Chinese industrial, medical, and solar manufacturing products following the recent trade agreement between the US and China.
The US has announced a one-year extension of tariff exemptions on certain Chinese industrial and medical goods, including equipment used to produce solar-energy products, following a recent US-China trade agreement.
These exemptions, originally set to expire on 29 November 2025, have been extended multiple times over the past year.
The US Trade Representative confirmed that the move aligns with the trade deal reached between President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, announced on 1 November 2025.
In total, the extension covers 14 categories related to solar manufacturing equipment and 164 other industrial and medical products, ranging from electric motors and auto air compressors to blood pressure monitors, pump components, and printed circuit boards.
Earlier, on 1 November 2025, the Trump Administration released a fact sheet detailing the trade agreement reached between the US and China on 30 October 2025.
This follows the announcement by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on 26 October 2025 that the Trump administration had reached a significant preliminary agreement with Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng to ease trade tensions between the two nations.
