President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has signed the 2025 state budget for Ukraine on 28 November 2024.
The 2025 budget prioritises Ukraine’s defense and allocates significant funds to security and defense forces, as well as the production and acquisition of weapons and other equipment including drones.
“We’re allocating UAH 2.23 trillion (about USD 53.6 billion) for this purpose,” Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced.
A budget allocation of UAH 420.9 billion (approximately USD 10.12 billion) is designated for social protection, with UAH 217 billion (around USD 5.2 billion) allocated to healthcare and UAH 199 billion (about USD 4.8 billion) for education.
In total, next year’s expenditures are projected to reach UAH 3.6 trillion (around USD 86.6 billion), while revenues are expected to total UAH 2.05 trillion (approximately USD 49.3 billion).
The parliament passed the budget on 19 November 2024.
