The UK has announced that the autumn budget proposals will be announced on 29 October 2018. The date is earlier than in previous years and appears to have been moved forward to avoid coinciding with important talks on Brexit that take place in November.

The government has already announced increased spending on healthcare and it is expected that tax rises will be necessary to fund the additional spending. However the Prime Minister has hinted in a speech that the corporation tax rate may be reduced from 19% to 17% at some point after Brexit has been completed.

This will be the last budget before the UK leaves the EU on 29 March 2019.
