Turkey’s Revenue Administration announced that Turkey and Hong Kong have signed an income tax treaty on 24 September 2024.
The agreement was signed by Bekir Bayrakdar, Director, Revenue Administration, on behalf of Turkey and Christopher Hui, Minister of Financial Services and Treasury, on behalf of Hong Kong. It aims to prevent double taxation on income taxes, prevent tax evasion and attract investors from both countries.
This treaty marks the first of its kind between the two nations and will take effect once the ratification instruments are exchanged.
