The Ministry of Treasury and Finance Turkey has issued General Communiqué No. 7 on Law No. 7440 to clarify the application and payment periods for the restructuring of public receivables in earthquake-affected areas on 4 October 2024.
Law No. 7440, published in the Official Gazette (No. 32682), provides essential relief to residents of specific provinces impacted by the ongoing emergency situation, which is set to conclude on 30 November 2024.
According to the new provisions, individuals and businesses in Adıyaman, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Malatya, and the İslahiye and Nurdağı districts of Gaziantep affected by earthquake can apply before 1 March 2025 for the restructuring of public receivables and voluntary tax base increase.
The first instalment, including any advance payments, is due by 3 April 2025. The second instalment must be paid by 1 May 2025, while subsequent instalments are to be settled in the following months.
