Turkey has approved the free trade agreement with Ukraine, according to the country’s official gazette No. 32620 on 2 August 2024.

The agreement was signed on 3 February 2022 and was later approved by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, along with its annexes, on 28 July 2024.

During a meeting with Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on 1 August 2024, Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat highlighted that trade between the two countries reached USD 7.3 billion in 2023, adding that once the agreement comes into effect this figure could quickly rise to USD 10 billion.
