The Cabinet of Thailand approved the signing of a commitment letter to participate in the Multilateral Competent Authority Agreement concerning the Automatic Exchange of Information in accordance with the Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework (CARF MCAA) on Tuesday, 22 October 2024.
Thailand plans to initiate information exchange under the CARF framework by 2028.
The CARF provides for the automatic exchange of tax relevant-information on crypto-assets and was developed to address the rapid growth of the crypto-asset market and to ensure that recent gains in global tax transparency are not gradually eroded.
