Tanzania’s Finance Minister met with Singapore’s Ambassador to discuss broad areas of bilateral cooperation, including trade, investment, tourism, AI, and digital revenue collection, as well as the negotiation and eventual ratification of an income tax treaty between the two countries.

Tanzania’s Ministry of Finance and Planning announced on 24 February 2026 that the country’s Minister of Finance held discussions with Singapore’s Ambassador to Tanzania on multiple areas of cooperation, including the expediting of finalising an income tax treaty.

The talks covered various areas of cooperation between Tanzania and Singapore, including trade and investment, tourism, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and strengthening the Government’s revenue collection systems through digital platforms.

It must go through a process of negotiation, formal signing, and ratification in both jurisdictions before it can enter into force.
