Global Minimum Tax registration and notification will go live on SARS eFiling on 16 March 2026, with integration into existing systems to minimise disruption for taxpayers.
The South African Revenue Service (SARS) will roll out registration and notification functionality for the Global Minimum Tax (GMT) through its eFiling platform on 16 March 2026.
This announcement was made on 19 December 2025.
The move forms part of South Africa’s implementation of the Global Anti-Base Erosion (GloBE) framework.
SARS said the integration of GMT processes into the existing eFiling system aims to minimise disruption and simplify compliance for taxpayers. The rescheduled launch date allows SARS to ensure system quality and align with international standards.
Earlier, SARS extended several initial compliance deadlines under the Global Minimum Tax (GloBE) requirements, as announced in Government Notice No. 6763 published on 28 October 2025.
