Slovenia has published the regulation for the ratification of the Multilateral Exchange Agreement on CRS avoidance arrangements and opaque offshore structures in the official Gazette on 28 February 2025.

The agreement will facilitate the annual automatic exchange of information gathered from intermediaries who have identified arrangements aimed at evading the Common Reporting Standard (CRS) and structures designed to conceal the beneficial owners of assets held offshore, along with the tax residence jurisdiction of the relevant taxpayers.

The Common Reporting Standard (CRS) is a globally accepted framework for the automatic exchange of financial account information between jurisdictions for tax purposes, aimed at improving the fight against tax evasion and promoting tax compliance.

This will enable tax authorities to verify the compliance of both taxpayers and intermediaries participating in such arrangements and structures.
