The Slovak Republic and Andorra are negotiating their first-ever income tax treaty to eliminate double taxation and strengthen economic ties, as the two nations mark 30 years of diplomatic relations in 2026.
The Slovak Republic and Andorra are working toward their first bilateral income tax agreement, according to a statement from the Slovak Republic’s Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs released on 31 March 2026.
State Secretary Marek EΕ‘tok emphasised Andorra’s significance as a partner during discussions with newly appointed Andorran Ambassador Jaume Serra Serra on 30 March 2026. The meeting marked a milestone year as both nations celebrate three decades of diplomatic relations established in 1996. The officials acknowledged the growing cooperation between the two countries and identified areas for future collaboration.
The planned double taxation agreement is expected to boost economic and investment activities between Slovakia and Andorra substantially. Both parties view the treaty as a crucial step toward enhancing business ties.
The proposed treaty requires completion of negotiations, signing, and ratification before it can take effect.
