San Marino has ratified its tax treaty with Kuwait, with Decree No. 65/2025 published in the Official Gazette on  29 April 2025.

A tax treaty, also referred to as a Double Tax Agreement (DTA) or Double Tax Avoidance Agreement (DTAA), is a pact between two countries aimed at eliminating or reducing the effects of double taxation. These agreements generally apply to different forms of taxation, such as income tax, inheritance tax, value-added tax (VAT) and other similar levies.

The agreement, signed on 27 September 2024, comes into effect immediately. The treaty aims to avoid double taxation and enhance economic ties between the two nations.
