Romania’s government has approved the signing of a new income tax treaty with the UK on 7 November 2024.
This new income tax treaty will supersede the existing Romania – United Kingdom Income Tax Treaty of 1975.
Previously, on 18 October 2017, the Romanian government authorised signing an income tax treaty with the UK after negotiations concluded in Bucharest on 2 October 2015. However, that treaty was never signed due to subsequent changes in both domestic and international legislation.
