The Philippines and Cambodia have signed their first income tax treaty on 11 February 2025.

The treaty will take effect once ratification instruments are exchanged.

The income tax treaty aims to alleviate the burden of double taxation for individuals and businesses in both countries. The agreement is also expected to enhance economic collaboration and inspire more Filipino investors to invest in Cambodia.

Negotiations to sign the double taxation agreement (DTA) started in 2018 in Manila, with further negotiations being held in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The final draft for the DTA was announced on 19 April 2024.
