Federal Register | Extension of test program on Electronic Foreign Trade Zone: This document declares U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP’s) plan to extend a test program for submitting electronic Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) admission applications to CBP via the Automated Broker Interface (ABI). This notice also announces a clarification regarding the data elements that are required for the submission of an FTZ admission application, as well as the transition of the test program from the Automated Commercial System (ACS) to the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE). ACE system becoming the sole CBP-authorized EDI System: This notice announces the new date for the transition of duty deferral entry and entry summary filings. The transition for processing electronic drawback filings will be announced in the Federal Register at a later date. As of September 16, 2017, ACE will be the sole CBP-authorized Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) system for processing duty deferral entry and entry summary filings, and the Automated Commercial System (ACS) will no longer be a CBP-authorized EDI system for processing these filings. Restrictions for importing fresh pork and pork products from a region in Mexico: A proposed rule was given by the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) regarding pork or pork products from a region in Mexico. As of August 11, 2017, the proposed rule published on July 29, 2014, is withdrawn. The rule in withdrawn because it would have defined a low-risk classical swine fever region in Mexico from which we would have allowed the importation of fresh pork and pork products into the United States under certain conditions. They are taking this action after reopening their risk evaluation of the classical swine fever status of Mexico using updated information. See Details |

FY 2017 allocation of extra tariff-rate quota for raw cane sugar: The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) is providing notice of country-by-country allocations of additional Fiscal Year (FY) 2017 in-quota quantity of the tariff-rate quota (TRQ) for imported raw cane sugar as announced by Secretary of Agriculture on July 25, 2017. This notice applies from August 2, 2017. See Details |

Importer re-inspection fee rates for Fiscal Year 2018: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is announcing the fiscal year (FY) 2018 fee rates for certain domestic and foreign facility re-inspections, failures to comply with a recall order, and importer re-inspections that are authorized by the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (the FD&C Act), as amended by the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). These fees will be effective on October 1, 2017, and will remain in effect through September 30, 2018. See Details |

FAS | South Korea lifts U.S. poultry ban: The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that the government of South Korea has lifted its ban on imports of U.S. poultry and poultry products, including fresh eggs. Korea had imposed the ban in response to a recent detection of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI). See Details |
CBP | U.S. CBP announces multiple investigations on illegal imports from China: The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued some decisions in Enforce and Protect Act (EAPA) investigations, concerning the evasion of the antidumping duty orders for wire hangers and wooden bedroom furniture. CBP issued its first final determination in an EAPA investigation on August 14, 2017, finding substantial proof that wire hangers were imported through evasion. Specifically, the hangers were transshipped from China through Thailand to evade the antidumping duties. EAPA investigations present CBP with new tools to investigate evasion and protect the revenue.
