On 26 July 2023, the OECD published their updated list of signatories for the Multilateral Competent Authority Agreement (MCAA) on the Exchange of Country-by-Country Reports (CbCR), showing that Papua New Guinea joined the agreement on 14 March 2023. The country introduced CbC reporting obligations from 1 January 2017 for multinational enterprise (MNE) groups with consolidated annual group income of PGK 2.3 billion or more in the preceding year. Local filing requirements for non-parent constituent entities have been included but are currently suspended until further notice.
