FIRS Management has approved a three months extension of the compliance deadline.
Nigeria’s Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) issued a notice on 11 August 2025, confirming the launch of the Merchant Buyer Solution (eInvoice) system, which became operational on 1 August 2025. Large taxpayers (businesses with annual turnover of NGN 5 billion and above) are expected to finalise their onboarding by 1 November 2025.
Following the launch of the e-invoice platform on 1 August 2025 and in recognition of the genuine efforts made by many taxpayers who encountered operational constraints in meeting the initial deadline, the FIRS Management has approved a three months extension of the compliance deadline.
This extension is granted to encourage voluntary compliance with tax laws and to allow for a more inclusive and seamless transition to the e-invoicing regime.
