The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) made some announcement of tax measures during COVID-19 outbreak:
- On 30 April 2020, the FIRS published a Public Notice, which provides that no interest and penalties will be charged to taxpayers having outstanding tax debt as long as the debt is completely paid by 31 May 2020.
- On 21 April 2020, the FIRS extended of the deadline of Value Added Tax (VAT) payments from 21st of the month until the last day of the month until further notice.
- Facility for submission of tax returns online by taxpayers via e-filing or by designated e-mail accounts published by the FIRS.
- On 31 March 2020, the tax authority extended the deadline for submission of company income tax returns by one month, i.e. 31 July 2020.
