Kyrgyzstan announced that it ratified the pending income tax treaty with the Netherlands on 28 June, 2024.

The new tax treaty, which will be the first between the Netherlands and Kyrgyzstan, aims to eliminate double taxation on income and prevent tax evasion. It will take effect on the first day of the second month following the exchange of ratification instruments, and will be enforced from 1 January of the year subsequent to its entry into force.

Signed on 5 December 2023, the Parliament Committee for International Affairs approved the ratification of the agreement between the two nations.

This new agreement replaces the 1986 tax treaty between the Netherlands and the former Soviet Union, which ceased to apply in the Netherlands on 1 January, 2019, and in Kyrgyzstan on 1 January, 2010.
