NamRA has postponed the compliance deadline as system upgrades continue.

The Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) has announced on 27 March 2026, a further extension for submitting income tax returns related to loss restriction provisions, pushing the deadline to 31 October 2026.

This marks the second extension following an initial postponement to 31 March 2026.  NamRA cited ongoing system development work as the primary reason for the additional time.

Under the amended Section 21 of the Income Tax Act, businesses can offset carried-forward losses up to NAD 1 million or 80% of their taxable income, whichever amount is higher. Losses can be carried forward for five years, extended to ten years for companies in mining, petroleum, or green sectors.

The extension applies to all income tax returns originally due between 31 July 2025 and 30 September 2026. Taxpayers with losses exceeding NAD 1 million from previous years must comply with these new limitations.
