The Ministry of Economy in Mexico has revised its guidelines for the temporary importation of “sensitive goods” under the “8th rule”.
8th rule goods include elaboration of final products listed in the PROSEC Decree; such as materials, parts, components, machinery, equipment, packing, packaging material, etc.
The updated criteria aims to address various issues, including the lack of control over imported items, traceability concerns, and compliance with non-tariff regulations.
The Ministry emphasises the need for specific requirements to ensure proper control and surveillance during and after customs clearance.
Companies with manufacturer registration and authorisation can import these goods exclusively for expanding industrial plants, equipment replacement, or integrating locally manufactured articles.
