Macau issued Chief Executive Order No. 39/2024 in the Official Gazette on 22 July, 2024, authorising the automatic exchange of tax information on financial accounts with Mainland China.
This Order, “Agreement on the Automatic Exchange of Fiscal Information on Financial Accounts between the Competent Authorities of Mainland China and the Macao Special Administrative Region for the Improvement of Tax Compliance Between the Two Parties”, empowers the Secretary for Economy and Finance to act on behalf of the Macao Special Administrative Region granting all necessary authority to conclude agreements.
The agreement is the first between the two jurisdictions.
