The Liechtenstein government has announced, on 20 November 2024, that officials from Liechtenstein and Slovak Republic convened to discuss economic relations, which included Liechtenstein’s interest in establishing an income tax treaty.
Liechtenstein and the Slovak Republic established diplomatic relations in December 2009. In this relatively short period, significant achievements have been made between the two countries especially in economic exchanges and the various meetings and discussions at the political levels.
Any potential income tax treaty would be first of its kind between the two countries and requires finalisation, signing, and ratification to take effect.
